Matt Meldrum-

Matt’s musical journey began at the age of nine with piano lessons, sparking a lifelong passion for exploring any instrument he could get his hands on. That curiosity quickly evolved into a multi-instrumentalist skill set, with Matt becoming equally at home on bass, guitar and keys.

Over the past 25 years, Matt has toured extensively throughout the western United States, performing in a wide range of cover, tribute and original bands. His versatility and deep musical understanding have made him a valuable contributor in both live and studio environments.

In addition to performing, Matt is an accomplished producer and recording artist. He has written, produced and released several albums of original music with his other band, Sons of Nothing, while also producing and engineering projects for other artists whenever the opportunity arises.

Bass/Vocal

Ray Opheikens-

Ray is a bassist and vocalist with 30+ years of experience with a deep love for live music. He's shared stages with some of Utah’s best players and opened for multiple national acts along the way. His musical taste covers a lot of ground, but he's especially at home in prog rock, heavy metal, rock, country and pop.

Ray has a bit of a quirky sense of humor, but he doesn't joke around when it comes to tone, preparation and delivering a solid performance. He shows up ready, stays professional and treats everyone on and off stage with respect.

Outside of performing, Ray is a full-time luthier with over 30 years of experience repairing and maintaining stringed instruments—from acoustic and electric guitars and basses to banjos, mandolins, ukuleles and more.

Ray's extensive experience in the Utah music scene has earned him an excellent reputation that he does not take lightly and he works hard to to keep that reputation.

Drums/Percussion

Tommy Maras-

Tommy began his journey into drumming in the second grade, quickly immersing himself in every aspect of the percussive arts. From an early age, he developed a deep musical foundation, performing throughout his school years in jazz band, pep band, concert band, marching band and both orchestral and symphonic percussion settings.

Building on that foundation, Tommy went on to become a professional and recording artist, performing and working in major music hubs including Salt Lake City, Los Angeles and Nashville.

In recent years, Tommy has remained highly active in the music scene, subbing for local bands and city symphonies while continuing his work as a recording musician. He has recorded drum tracks for others as well as his other band, West of House, and has collaborated with Matt on past and upcoming Sons of Nothing projects.

Tommy is endorsed by Amedia cymbals.
